This $9 adapter powers your Fire TV Stick straight from your TV — on sale for October Prime Day

Love your Fire TV Stick, but hate the mess of cables you need to watch your favorite shows? Well, hate no more. The Fire-Cable Plus Adapter is designed to minimize your chaos and provide all the extra juice your Fire TV Stick needs — straight from the TV itself.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

This little problem solver is already inexpensive, but while the number of five-star reviews keeps going up, the price keeps going down! At $9, down from $15 (that’s 40% off!), this is the lowest price we’ve seen for it!

Why do I need this? 🤔

People love the Fire TV Stick, and for good reason. What’s not to like? It can control your TV, smart home and even let you stream video games through Amazon Luna. The only downside is that higher-end Fire Sticks like the 4K or 4K Max require external power. That means another cable you have to wind through the rat’s nest of cords behind your TV.

There’s not a lot to this accessory, and that’s the beauty of it. It’s a low-effort, no-frills design that does exactly what it’s intended to. If you snagged a Fire TV Stick for yourself during one of Amazon’s blowout sales, this is a great way to give it an extra bit of juice while keeping the back of your TV nice and tidy.

If you have a Roku, good news: It also works for that, as well as for Chromecast devices. Anything that has a microUSB connection can take advantage of this adapter. The company even claims this can save you power, since it powers off your Fire Stick when you turn off the TV. It’s practically foolproof too; even the most non-tech-savvy user can figure out how to plug it in and operate it.

What reviewers say 💬

Over 13,000 people have given this little clutter-destroying cable five stars, and it’s easy to see why. Who wants a bird’s nest next to their TV? Talk about distracting.

Pros 👍

Bird’s nest, spider web, rat’s nest, whatever you want to call it, it doesn’t look great. Get rid of it for good, said one reviewer. “Very convenient as it helps to get rid of the spider webs of wire from behind the TV. Easy to install — literal plug and play. If you have more than one USB port, try both, as one did say insufficient power, whilst the other had no issue.”

“I found this by watching a video on how to add more storage to a Fire TV Stick,” explained another perfect scorer. “I have purchased three of these cables and they work great. I am getting power to the stick, and I am able to hide the cable because it just connects to the USB port on the TV and the Fire TV Stick.”

It’s not just useful when it comes to TVs, according to this happy customer. “Using this with a TV and a streaming dongle keeps the dangling cords behind your screen to a minimum and helps keep things neat and tidy. But, you can also use it when you need a tiny USB Micro cable for other things, like power banks.”

Cons 👎

“On my other TV it works; however, each time I turn on the TV, the Fire TV Stick has to boot,” cautioned a four-star reviewer. “It doesn’t take more than about 45 seconds, but it is a change vs. AC power. For those that are plugged in, as soon as you turn on the TV, they work. With this device, it must start over. Not a deal breaker, just something you should know.”

These won’t work with every TV. For example, I have a much older 32 model, and though it has a USB port, it isn’t powerful enough. You’ll want to check that you have a USB port on your TV and that it has enough power before ordering, unlike this unhappy customer: “I was hoping this product would work for me, but it did not. I have two TVs and purchased one for each TV and Fire TV Stick. I followed installation instructions and am disappointed that neither product worked.”
